NC Lions Peace Poster Winner

North Carolina Lions Council Chair Carlton Weeks has announced the winner of this year’s Peace Poster Contest. Congratulations to Emily Orander from Wake Forest, located in District G. The theme of the 2011-12 Peace Poster Contest was “Children Know Peace.” Students, ages 11, 12 or 13  were eligible to participate.

NC Lions Clubs throughout the state invite students to submit art from a theme created by Lions Clubs International.   Most districts have a district winner, and then a state winner is chosen from the winning district participants. Council Chair Weeks stated, “This year, art professors at Mount Olive College had a challenging time selecting the winner from such a talented array of art.”

NC Lions Peace Poster winning art is sent to Lions Clubs International for the international competition. Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This art contest for kids encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. During the last 20 years, more than four million children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest.
